Ah, love. That mushy-gushy sh*t. Everybody needs it, creatives included. Here are some easy, yet thoughtful ways to show your favorite creative some extra love.
Purchase Their Products
If they create art, buy a piece. If they make music, stream it. If they aren’t technically selling anything, or if it would break the bank, don’t stress—check the next suggestion.
Share Their Work
Try sharing their socials or their website with anyone who will listen. Whether it’s through an Instagram story or word-of-mouth, we’re sure your friends would love the plug. You never know what opportunities you could bring.
Buy Them Lunch
Though eating is not a habit exclusive to creatives, we can’t think of a reason not to add this to our list. This could be a $15 Venmo, a DoorDash gift card, or an order you place over the phone for delivery to their place. Either way, it’s a lovely surprise. Just check for those dietary restrictions.
Engage on Social Media
We’re sure you’re already double-tapping every post, but if you want to go the extra mile, make it a point to press every button Instagram (or TikTok, or Twitter, or LinkedIn…whichever!) has to offer. Turn on those post notifications, repost to your story, copy the link address, and save the post. For bonus points, make a habit of leaving comments longer than three fire emojis.
Give Them a Break
An impromptu friend date, if the schedules allow for it, is always appreciated. Curb those feelings of burnout with a nice little break at the movies, on a walk, or doing literally anything the both of you would enjoy together.
Hand-Deliver Mail
Junk mail, coupons… letter from a friend?? What a pleasant surprise to find in your mailbox! Give your pal a tangible piece of encouragement this Valentine’s Day to spread those warm and fuzzy feelings.
Or, if You’re Busy, Send a Text
While words of affirmation might not be everyone’s love language, we’re pretty sure everyone still likes to hear them. Send a compliment! A note of appreciation! Kind words can go a long way, especially on Valentine’s Day.
That’s it—we did say ‘easy ways!’ If those seem obvious, that means you’re doing something right. Keep it up!
