Michell is a creative, fun spirit with a passion for the arts who wants to see Indy thrive. When not working or volunteering at PATTERN events, you can find her at Gallery Pastry or The Garden Table. Michell currently works as an Events and Community Manager at The Hatch and is known by friends as “Meeshi.” Get to know her below!

How old are you (if you don’t mind me asking!)?

36

Where are you from?

Indiana. Right now I live in Indianapolis (West Side).

What do you do for a living?

I work in the hospitality industry.

What do you do as a creative outlet?

Collage, make rings, play dress up…

What’s the most interesting thing happening in Indy right now?

FINALLY more funding for the arts! I’m excited for the completion of Bottleworks, St’artp 317 Season 3, and more public transportation.

Favorite local art gallery/art show/local event?

Harrison Center, Harrison Annual Color show, Festival of Trees at The Indiana Historical Society, or Spring Blooms at Newfields.

Last trip you took?

Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

How did you first hear about PATTERN?

In college… friends of friends were talking about a launch party.

What event are you looking forward to attending this month??

Creative Mornings.

What resources would you like to see added to your community?

More support for the arts – grants, city support, and state support.

What fashion brand/store would you like to see open in downtown Indy?

A green nail salon (examples: Base Coat, Spruce), a local juice bar. I’m STILL heartbroken over NBJ’s closing (Natural Born Juicers).
