People of PATTERN: Lindsay Rosa

What do your friends call you?

“Linds” for everyday or if they’re feeling especially witty, “Linny.”

How old are you (if you don’t mind me asking!)?

The blooming youth of 29.

Where are you from?

The hipstoric Midwestern town of Noblesville, Indiana.

What do you do for a living?

I teach composition in the English Department at IUPUI and teach in the School of Education at Butler University. I also enjoy freelance writing projects doing content writing for websites for Indianapolis and L.A.-based clients.

What do you do as a creative outlet?

I write plays, oftentimes with my dog Marlin sitting nearby.

What’s the most interesting thing happening in Indy right now?

Indy has an active cycling and running scene. With the Cultural Trail and Monon Trail offering Indy residents such scenic and accessible trails, it really allows you to explore the city in a refreshing, exciting, and healthy way.

Favorite local brewery, distillery, or winery?

I’ve been known to frequent The Libertine on Mass Ave. with friends after work occasionally. Their Starman cocktail is a favorite.

Last trip you took?

I enjoyed a weekend visit to The Midwest Popular Culture Association Conference in Chicago this past October where I presented my research and enjoyed great coffee.

How did you first hear about PATTERN?

The old fashioned way. A friend told me about PATTERN.

What was your favorite PATTERN meetup and why?

I enjoyed The State of Pattern a few years back at the Athenaeum. Learning about their future plans and the Ruckus Makerspace was inspiring.

What event are you looking forward to attending this month?

I always look forward to the Butler Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker every year at Clowes Memorial Hall. It’s a special tradition.
