PATTERN’s Guide to Cookies + Cocoa

Photography by Chantal Dominique

There are few foods more classic for the holidays than a Christmas cookie and a mug of hot cocoa. We decided to stop by some of our favorite sweets shops in Indianapolis to see their takes on cookies and cocoa!

The Cake Bake Shop

Try their Callebaut Belgian Sipping Chocolate with 1883 vanilla syrup topped with steamed milk, homemade whipped cream, chocolate shavings and “a million sparkles.” Pair the drink with gingerbread men and sugar cookies with royal icing.

The Best Chocolate in Town

Sip classic hot chocolate while eating from a wide assortment of cookies including candy cane truffles, eggnog truffles, peanut butter chocolate chip cookies, dark chocolate sea salt and caramel cookies and ginger sorghum cookies.

The Flying Cupcake

Enjoy fun and festive cookies and cupcakes such as sugar cookies, old fashioned gingerbread men with orange glaze, vanilla cupcake with sugar cookies on top, signature red velvet cupcakes, “Ugly Sweater Cupcake” with traditional chocolate cake and vanilla icing and a “Holiday Cheer” cupcake with eggnog and rum flavors, as well as gingerbread icing.

Macaron Bar

Your favorite French cookie with a holiday twist! Try flavors like peppermint, gingerbread and eggnog.

The Gallery Pastry Shop

Enjoy a classic hot chocolate or Lofi Gentian Amaro with coffee while sampling a sugar cookie, chocolate sugar dough cookie, hazelnut macaron, raspberry rose macaron or a salted caramel macaron.
