Fashion Arts Society holds Hats Off Fundraiser Luncheon

Fashion Arts Society held it’s first, inaugural fundraiser luncheon on May 3 and by all accounts the event was a total and complete success! Over 200 guests arrived wearing fabulous outfits and hats to be the first to view the opening of the new exhibition “An American Legacy, Norell, Blass, Halston, & Sprouse.“ and partake in a meal together, all to further the cause of textile arts and fashion in our fine city.

Keynote speaker Dr. Linda McMurry regaled the guest with her adventures in building her 800+ hat collection as well as sharing some wonderful tid-bits about the historical importance of hats through the ages.

Prizes were given out to a number of guests for the most original and stylish hats. All proceeds from the fundraiser went to FAS to further their activities of education and acquisition of historically important textile items.
