Fellowships

A crash course for a creative career.

Fellows join the Pattern team for one year just long enough to hone their creative focus, contribute to major projects, build a killer portfolio, and fall in love with Indy’s creative community.

Not to be too dramatic, but fellows are the beating heart of Pattern. They support core staff in big ways— think, managing deadlines on a client project, conducting interviews for Pattern Magazine, contributing to meetings with high profile partners, and pitching projects to oversee end-to-end.

When we say “crash course,” we mean it. There’s no A team and B team; it’s a collaborative environment where fellows receive support, feedback, and mentorship. In return, you take on the real work. Being a fellow means taking on responsibility, and we’re trusting you to deliver.

Pattern Magazine

Fellows play a key role in Pattern’s biggest projects, like getting the signature Pattern Magazine to print. They contribute at every stage, including conceiving the issue’s theme, interviewing featured subjects, assisting on photo shoots, designing the layout, and copyediting.

Volume 19

Agency Work

Fellows help keep Pattern afloat by contributing to client work, like Indiana University’s Entrepreneurship Yearbook.

The Future Looks Bright

Fellows get plugged in to Pattern’s Network to help them plan their next move. They get unique access to industry mentors and events like Indy Design Week.
